Physiotherapy for children and families

Our paediatric physiotherapist can help with:

  • Babies with head flattening (plagiocephaly) and head tilt (torticollis)
  • Slower motor development of babies and infants
  • Toe walkers, in-toed and out-toed walking, postural foot problems, bowed legs or knock knees
  • For older children, growth related issues, sporting injuries, post-surgery rehabilitation
  • Mums with neck and back pain, carpal tunnel and shoulder problems post-partum and related to manual handling of baby and baby equipment
  • Pelvic floor problems

Physiotherapy for adults

Physiotherapy can get you moving again

Our physiotherapists can assess and treat a wide range of conditions including:

  • Musculoskeletal problems of the back, neck, hip, knee & shoulder
  • Neurological conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis and others
  • Cardio-thoracic and respiratory disorders
  • Mobility and balance problems
  • Fall risks and assessment for walking aids
  • Post-surgery management, including hip and knee replacements

All the above conditions can be treated individually or in a group class setting.

Your physiotherapist might also work in close association with your GP, occupational therapist, dietitian or other practitioner to provide a comprehensive rehabilitation plan for you.

Group physiotherapy

Our group classes are run by an exercise professional and intended to help you strengthen and heal in a supported environment.

GLAD (registered name GLA:D)

This is a 7-week intensive group program for hip and knee treatment for osteoarthritis. Sessions are held twice weekly. All clients are assessed by our physiotherapy service prior to entry into the group.

Hydrotherapy

A low-impact, water-based exercise program for injury recovery, pain management, fitness and relaxation, in our on-site hydrotherapy pool.

Mobility & falls prevention

A 10-week program aiming to improve physical well being, whilst increasing confidence and independence with mobility and community access.

Cardiac rehabilitation

This 8-week program encourages safe activity and exercise while promoting lifetime heart health.

Additional group programs

  • Strength training
  • Gentle exercise groups

Who is eligible?

Everyone in the community is welcome to access our physiotherapy service.

Do I need a referral?

Yes. Clients under the age of 65 will require a GP referral for physiotherapy services.

If you are over 65 you can seek a referral through My Aged Care on 1800 200 422.
If you are under 65, contact your GP or Connect Health & Community for more information.

What about My Aged Care?

You may be referred to physiotherapy as part of a My Aged Care assessment. This referral will be discussed with you and will be made with your permission.
