Hydrotherapy

Connect Health & Community has been providing hydrotherapy services to the community for more than 30 years, providing benefits to both clients and volunteers.

Exercising in the heated pool helps aid injury recovery, rehabilitation and fitness training.

For the body

The warm water supports the body, improves stability, provides resistance for strength training, promotes circulation, helps muscle relaxation and reduces pain.

For the mind

Along with the physical benefits, hydrotherapy provides psychological benefits, including relaxation due to warmth and weightlessness, increased feeling of health and wellbeing, increased self-confidence and improved mood through positive interaction with other clients and volunteers.

Get in the swim

Classes operate with a focus on the health and safety of all clients, volunteers and staff.  Our COVID-safe plan includes wearing masks on the pool deck, maintaining physical distancing and adhering to hand hygiene guidelines. Rules may change according to Covid management protocols required in the organization from time to time.

In addition, hydrotherapy guidelines require:

  • Physical distancing of 1.5 metres on pool deck at all times
  • Change rooms and showers only being available on exiting the pool
  • Clients to arrive in their bathers.
  • There is a 15 minute gap between classes, so clients will need to leave promptly after sessions to enable the next class to begin.
