Connect Health & Community has been providing hydrotherapy services to the community for more than 30 years, providing benefits to both clients and volunteers.

Exercising in the heated pool helps aid injury recovery, rehabilitation and fitness training.

For the body

The warm water supports the body, improves stability, provides resistance for strength training, promotes circulation, helps muscle relaxation and reduces pain.

For the mind

Along with the physical benefits, hydrotherapy provides psychological benefits, including relaxation due to warmth and weightlessness, increased feeling of health and wellbeing, increased self-confidence and improved mood through positive interaction with other clients and volunteers.

Get in the swim

Classes are now resuming, with a focus on the health and safety of all clients, volunteers and staff.  Our COVID-safe plan includes screening every person entering our site, maintaining physical distancing and adhering to hand hygiene guidelines.

In addition, hydrotherapy guidelines require:

  • Physical distancing of 1.5 metres on pool deck at all times
  • A maximum of 12 clients per session in the pool
  • Adherence to indoor density rules
  • Change rooms and showers only being available on exiting the pool
  • Clients to arrive in their bathers.
  • Clients are only able to the building 5 minutes before their scheduled class start time (early arrivals are asked to wait outside, or in their car).
  • There is a 15 minute gap between classes, so clients will need to leave promptly after sessions to enable the next class to begin.
  • Everyone will have their temperature checked, asked COVID 19 screening questions and receive hand sanitizer on arrival.
  • A cleaning protocol is in place for the pool equipment.
