Well, after exploring the far corners of France, we say “au revior” to the home of great cheese, bread and cakes ...and head to Portugal.
Portugal is found on the west of the same land mass as Spain, just south of France.
I have never been to Portugal, so I am looking forward to this.
Today we will visit Lisbon, Almada and Setubal.
LisbonLisbon is one of the oldest cities in Europe. My colleague, Peter, tells me it is known as "The city of even hills" because it was formed by volcanoes, and everyone gets around on small trams because it is quite hard to walk everywhere.
But despite the hills, it is still good to walk Lisbon because underfoot is as an ever-changing display of very beautiful paving.
