Our Social Support Group, 'The Monday Mob' had a real treat last week when Tom from Museum Victoria's Outreach Program visited with some furry friends.
'Mobsters' were able to get up close and personal with some of our unique Australian fauna, and share stories of their personal experiences with them in the past.
Social Support Group Co-ordinator, Brooke, said everyone had a wonderful afternoon.
"Tom brought an amazing array of animals with him and was able to share interesting information that we wouldn't otherwise have known," she said.
"Most of us wouldn't have had a chance to see all these animals up close in the wild, so to be able to see and touch these beautiful specimens was a real treat. The ring-tailed possum and echidna were a favourite," she said.
We run Social Support Groups on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for those who have difficulty getting out and about but want to stay connected to their community.
We also offer an outings group that runs fortnightly and several monthly social groups.
If you or a loved one Connect Health & Community provides transport to most groups to make sure no-one misses out on the fun.

The past year at Connect Health & Community has been, like everywhere, most challenging - but surprisingly uplifting, as we worked with our community to meet the challenges of a worldwide pandemic.
