Bright new community space

Residents and the Bluff Road Engagement Group celebrated the launch of a revitalised Scarborough Playground at the Bluff Road public housing estate last week.

Bluff Rd housing estate resident, Ron, and his son, are all smiles at the new playground.

The playground was redeveloped into a vibrant communal space designed to contribute to the health, happiness and wellbeing of the community.  Bright colours were used in the creation of the structure, complementing the community mural created by residents last year.

Completion of the project was made possible by community fundraising contributions and a real community effort.

Connect Health & Community would like to thank our project partners from Bayside City Council, St Leonard's Secondary College, Castlefield Community Centre and the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (Cheltenham).

The new playground is brightly coloured like the community mural.

A big thank you to our donors from Bendigo Bank and the Ladies Royal Melbourne Golf Club.

We look forward to continuing our work as a community and supporting the health and wellbeing of public housing residents in Bayside.
