Creative Ways to Care program

Creative Ways to Care program dementia carers

A free education and training program offering support and strategies to those caring for people living with dementia.

As a carer of a family member or friend living with dementia, there’s a lot to understand, and sometimes responding and relating to the person you are caring for can be confusing and/or overwhelming.

To help support you in your role as a carer, Connect Health & Community has partnered with Alfred Health Carer Services to deliver a program of free, informative and supportive workshops.

Run over 7 evenings (6pm-9pm) by qualified health professionals, these workshops will help carers:

  • Discover ways of using everyday activities to connect, have fun and share meaningful time with the person you are caring for.
  • Learn strategies that may settle or cease changed behaviours, or assist with a task.
  • Exchange ideas and receive support.

You will also receive written information and resources to help your implement the activities and strategies at home.
